Position Overview
The Experienced CCTV & Access Control Installer / Low Voltage Technician is responsible for installing, configuring, and supporting surveillance and access control systems. This role requires strong technical ability, attention to detail, and professionalism with clients. You will also help mentor entry-level technicians and uphold Platinum CCTV’s quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Help design and install CCTV camera systems, access control systems, and other low-voltage solutions.
- Collaborate with project managers to plan and execute installations, ensuring timely completion and client satisfaction.
- Meet with clients and perform site walk-throughs to confirm requirements and maintain strong relationships.
- Run low-voltage lines for security cameras, Wi-Fi access points, and access control systems.
- Configure and integrate cameras, NVRs, network infrastructure, and related equipment.
- Program access control systems and train clients on system use.
- Provide training on software usage for PC, Mac, and mobile devices.
- Troubleshoot issues, diagnose problems, and implement effective solutions during and after installation.
- Manage tools, equipment, and inventory required for installation and service.
- Maintain documentation of installations, configurations, and repairs.
- Mentor entry-level technicians and support career development.
- Follow safety regulations, jobsite requirements, and company policies.
- Stay current with industry technologies, trends, and best practices.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (preferred).
- 5+ years of experience installing and maintaining CCTV and access control systems in commercial, industrial, and/or residential environments.
- Experience programming access control door systems.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to mentor and guide a team.
- Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.
- Solid knowledge of networking principles and IP device configuration.
- Strong troubleshooting skills and attention to detail.
- Professional communication skills with clients and internal teams.
- Ability to lift equipment and work in physically demanding environments.
- Commitment to safety protocols and industry standards.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to pass a criminal background check.
Preferred Experience
- Low Voltage: 2+ years (required)
- Electrical: 5+ years (preferred)
- Security Camera Installation/Setup: 5+ years (preferred)
