Color Night Vision IP Cameras

While IR night vision cameras are still recommended for most camera installations where light levels drop, these color nightvision cameras area a great choice where there is some lighting, but the light levels are low. Each IP camera with low-light color capabilities will adjust the lighting somewhat differently to enhance the picture at lower light levels to provide a better color image even when light levels drop.

These color night-vision cameras come in several varieties for housings and designs. This type of camera is popular in low-lit bar and restaurant environments, because there is some lighting available so the cameras produce good color video. In extreme low-light conditions with very little to no lighting, at Platinum CCTV we recommend traditional IR cameras. This is due to the fact that every camera image sensor requires some light to render a good quality picture, especially in color. Once you drop below that light level, the camera often boosts the gain to try to provide a better image. When you do that, it can cause smearing of the picture.

For the best low-light color capabilities in areas with very little color, we recommend the Dahua color-fusion model camera, it combines one image sensor with infrared and another with color to provide a great fused image with minimal smearing.
